Monday, Week Three!

Today on WrimoRadio, we’ll hear your answers to our Question of the Week. Thanks to everyone who responded—your answers were fantastic! Once again, we’ll visit with our NYC Nanos, who describe what to expect in Week Three and relate a NaNo anecdote of serious badliness that is very appropriate for this week.

To answer this episode's Question of the Week, just grab a computer and a cheap microphone, fire it up, and say the following: "My name is [your name] and I’m from [where you live] and the worst line of prose I’ve written this month is [blank].

Make sure your answer is 15 seconds or less and saved as an MP3 or WAV file, and then email it to us at wrimoradio@nanowrimo.org. We'll put as many of them as we can fit on the air every Monday!

Be sure to tune in on Wednesday, when we interview Nanos who have taken on the challenge along with their coworkers.

This episode of WrimoRadio is brought to you by RedRoom.com!

Wednesday, Week Two!

UPDATE: WrimoRadio's Santa Barbara studios are under fire evacuation orders, so Friday's episode will be delayed. The podcast must go on; we'll just be a day or two late!

Recently, NaNoWriMo got tagged as "an underground dating site for book nerds." To see if there's any truth to the rumors, we headed to Britain, Nashville, and the Pacific Northwest to poll some NaNo singles on their November love lives.

In today’s episode, WrimoRadio sets out to investigate the rumors that NaNoWriMo is a swinging singles scene. The verdict: Maybe not so much. Thanks to Nanos Chris, Shellie, Claire, and Meredith for assisting us in this episode.

Don’t forget, you have until Friday to respond to our “Question of the Week”. To answer this week’s question, just grab a computer and a cheap microphone, fire it up, and say the following: "My name is [your name] and I’m from [town where you live] and my novel has evolved from [blank] to [blank]."

Make sure your answer is 15 seconds or less and saved as an MP3 or WAV file, and then email it to us at wrimoradio@nanowrimo.org. We'll put as many of them as we can fit on the air every Monday.

Be sure to tune in on Friday, Nov. 14th, when we talk with Debs, a Toronto ML, who was instrumental in putting together NaNoWriMusic 2008 CD. We’ll also be hearing again from Brooklyn ML Olga with another “Word of the Week."

This episode of WrimoRadio sponsored by CreateSpace!

This week’s music:
“WrimoRadio Theme Song” by Chris Baty
“Impromptu For Six Pianos” by Ash Verjee
“bj” by 22
“Angelic Disko”

Say it isn’t so! The honeymoon is over. The bloom is off the rose. The euphoria of Week One is but a distant memory. Yes, fellow Nanos, we’ve entered Week Two of the challenge. But never fear, WrimoRadio is here!

In this episode, we hear from our veteran New York Nanos with their NaNo-tested and approved tips on bolstering your word count. We also hear your answers to our “Question of the Week”—Nanos all over the world chime in on how to stay motivated during this make-or-break week of the challenge.

Last week’s response to our “Question of the Week” was just fantastic—thanks to all of you who sent us your audio. Keep ‘em coming! To answer this week’s question, just grab a computer and a cheap microphone, fire it up, and say the following: "My name is [your name] and I’m from [town where you live] and my novel has evolved from [blank] to [blank].

Be sure to tune in on Wednesday, Nov. 12th, when we focus on Nanos of the single persuasion. Is it true NaNoWriMo is a swinging scene for singles? Tune in and find out!

Live from New York, it’s WrimoRadio! WrimoRadio visits NYC, where where we get helpful tips on Week One from veteran Nanos. Plus, YOUR answers to our Question of the Week!
For this first “official” episode of 2008, WrimoRadio traveled to Manhattan, where we spent a very enjoyable evening with an amazing group of NYC NaNos at the Greenwich Treehouse. Special thanks to Erin, Livvy, Teresa, Olga, Alexis, Marsha, and Dan for your contributions to WrimoRadio! We look forward to hearing from you throughout the month.

We also debut our regular Monday feature——your answers to our Question of the Week. Our first week’s response was overwhelming, and we sadly couldn't fit everyone in. Thanks to all of you who sent us your audio!

The NEW Question of the Week is: "My name is [your name] and I’m from [town where you live] and I stay focused on my writing by [blank].

All entries must be received by Friday, November 7. Just grab a computer and a cheap microphone, fire it up, and record yourself. Make sure your answer is 15 seconds or less and saved as an MP3 or WAV file, and then email it to us at wrimoradio@nanowrimo.org.

We'll put as many of them as we can fit on the air on Monday, November 10.

This episode of WrimoRadio is sponsored by Writer’s Digest Books!

Be sure to tune in on Wednesday, November 5 for the next episode of WrimoRadio.

This week’s music:
“WrimoRadio Theme Song” by Chris Baty
“Apple Chunk Guitar” by AjT

WrimoRadio Monday 10/27

In this episode, we meet our new WrimoRadio producer Diane, who chats with Chris Baty about the mysterious Four Revelations. We close with the question of the week—record yourself answering it and you can be on Monday's show!

In celebration of NaNoWriMo's 10th year, we'll be increasing the frequency of WrimoRadio to three times a week, staring November 3. We'll be posting new episodes here each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday throughout November.

Tune in on Monday, November 3rd, for the first "official" episode of 2008, when you can hear Wrimos from around the world answering the question of the week, as well as excellent tips from veteran NaNos on surviving and thriving during NaNoWriMo.

To answer this episode's Question of the Week, just grab a computer and a cheap microphone, fire it up, and say the following: "My name is [your name] and I signed up for the NaNoWriMo challenge because [reason]".

Make sure your answer is 15 seconds or less and saved as an MP3 or WAV file, and then email it to us at wrimoradio@nanowrimo.org. We'll put as many of them as we can fit on the air every Monday.

This episode of WrimoRadio is sponsored by YOU—the generous folks who donate to NaNoWriMo. Who knew $10 could make such a difference?

Music on this week's show:

"WrimoRadio Theme Song" by Chris Baty
"busted frog" by .22
"Born69" by AjT

Thanks to the Podsafe Music Network for the tunes!
Sound effects courtesy soundsnap.com

See you next Monday!
