Brief Author Bio: the eighteen year old farm girl, now city girl taking film & video production, has always been a big dreamer but a horrible procrastinator and perfectionist. of course, she wasn’t always so keen on the arts - she actually aspired to be a high school track star. that quickly changed with the introduction of harry potter, fandom and literature. writing for almost four years, kim is unpublished and unrecognized, but happy. she is very insecure about her writing and wishes to remain that way, despite many friends and english teachers protests. for now, she is content with keeping her writing to herself, which is why becoming a publish author is kind of contradicts itself. she does that a lot. she spends most of her time not doing what is asked of her, pretending she is famous and talking to her boyfriend. her life is so fulfilling; hence, her living in constant dream worlds. |

Synopsis: Neon Apalonia
there are moments in life when we are forced to face ourselves. sometimes, these moments are profound and real and painful - other times, we barely notice them as they go by. but for johanna victor, the death of her boyfriend, jesse schwartz, is the most genuine realization she has ever had. suddenly, she is face-to-face with mortality and something of an end that she can’t understand. full of desperate and weakening anger, she drops out of university to find out what really happened that day.
but as soon as she begins, jesse’s long lost brother, philip, comes back to town for the funeral and johanna is suddenly thrown into a world that she never knew existed. the life of rubber tramping, of laid back comedians and simple musicians without guitar strings... a life that jesse once had. and philip is the hard-headed, down-to-earth and simple brother that comes back after three years of silence to pay his last respects to his brother.
johanna is just long for the ride.
as they drive towards the ocean, johanna is still trying to figure it out all out - death, love, life, jesse. nothing seems to make sense; with the addition of old friends and new faces along the way, johanna will never seem to find out all the secrets that jesse kept. and when this realization sinks in, the need for comfort and escape can only be found in philip.
