You can shut off any and all email correspondence from NaNoWriMo. To do so, first sign in to the site.
If you are getting hundreds of automatically generated emails about threads in the forums, you likely accidentally "subscribed" to these threads. To fix this, just sign in and then:
- Go to the My NaNoWriMo page
- Click the Manage Notifications link in the left-hand navigation menu
- Click on the Categories link under "Subscriptions" header.
- Un-check any of the forums you may be accidentally subscribed to under the "Categories" sub-tab
If you would like to stop receiving emails from NaNoWriMo Headquarters, such as the weekly peptalks:
- Sign in and go to the My NaNoWriMo page, then click Edit User Settings and check the "No emails from NaNoWriMo headquarters" box.
If you would like to stop receiving Regional emails from your area's Municipal Liaison:
- To opt out of regional emails from your local Municipal Liaison, go to your Region Management page, and click "My Membership" to the right of your region's name, and then click "Leave this group."
If you would like to stop receiving NaNoMail, which is the Private Message system built into the NaNoWriMo site:
- Go to My NaNoWriMo -> Edit User Settings and uncheck the "Allow private messages" box
