I'm thinking about that ... but I'm not sure. I still have no plot, no idea. >____<

Not in the novel, BUT I am writing a one-act. It is, and I kid you not, "Pirates vs. Ninjas: The Musical".

Awesomeness, or what? :D

Of course, it would be nice to actually get the script done, but hey!

Yes, pirates here! Not sure how much adventure there will actually be, though, and I don't have a villain other than the sea (not sure I want one, either).

Well, not explicitly planning on any, but I'm not ruling out space pirates making an appearance at any given point. :P

Knowing me one or two will probably randomly pop up during a fierce battle between the MC and her worst enemy

No. Absolutely not. My space pirates are forbidden to make an appearance this year. No way. Uh-uh.

(What do you want to bet I get desperate around 30k...)

Nothing definite yet, but there might be pirates, zombies, Captain Nemo, and Cthulhu.

Other than that, no idea.

I've got sky pirates as well, though I don't have a definite plot or a setting yet. They're just floating there in the aether that will become my novel, very resolutely saying, "Yes, we're in it!"

Ok, I've just decided! There are going to be pirates in my story this year! Atleast one, anyway.
My story so far is about a gothic family who lives next to a graveyard. Surprisingly, though, I've found a way to work some pirates into this. :)

Go pirates! And I'm doing a musical as well, but there aren't any ninjas in it. But pirates! Oh, the excitement.

I've got skypirates, the crew of the good (air)ship Osprey.

Haven't entirely decided what they're *doing* yet, but that's what October's for, right?

I'm planning on having a solo pirate. In a rowboat. I'm not quite sure how this will work yet. Do pirates even work alone?

Well, strictly speaking, piracy IS a touch difficult as a solo operation...

That said, consider Jack Sparrow's entry into "The Curse of the Black Pearl"...

I've decided to do Sky Pirates. The working title is "Shanghaied" right now, and it'll probably stay that way. I'm pretty excited about it! I've never done pirates for NaNo before. :D

My folks aren't pirates, but they do have ships. My MC is a Captain of a ship and she (character not ship) was attacked by her former king/leader type person. So now she has no one to sail under and I don't know what they're doing. They can't attack bad guy, because there are four ships against the most powerful navy in "World" So what they're gonna do? No idea.

*Sigh*

I'm a bit undecided, but in at least one of my stories this year, there are going to be pirates and pirate activity by people who should not be engaged in acts of piracy. Should be fun, I live in the home of the original Pirates of the Caribbean.

I know this will come as a shock: I'm going to try to avoid pirates this year. Considering as my last years NaNo and my SeaStowriMo were entirely about priates, this could get interesting.

I'm doing Pirates of the Caribbean fanfic, but it's going to be Navy-centered. :D

My novel is technically going to be historical fiction, but it's historical fiction about PIRATES. X3

There are a lot of sky pirates this year! For a start it seems everyone who's playing in the Steampunk sandbox is writing some, me included...

I plan to have at least one sky pirate crew show up in my Nano and possibly two (because I can't decide whether they're fluffy awesome Firefly-esque rebels or seriously scary no-survivors types - so I might have both!).

Your username is making me giggle.

...If you were waiting for the opportune moment... that was him! ^ ^ ^ ^

And, oh yes, I'm writing about pirates, too. Tragic pirates of (slightly) historical proportions, but pirates nonetheless.

Absolutely!

Mine is really a fantasy novel with a totally different type of protagonist, but the pirates play an important part. The pirates have additional motives, but nobody knows it until the end.

Also, gun powder has not been invented yet in my world (I've always hated the stupid cannons in the movies, too boring), so it's all swashbuckling, hand-to-hand combat, interrogations, torture, intrigue, etc.)

I can't wait for November!
