I'd say there are averages, Winged_Wolf. Even yesterday that would have been less than the combined total. Our average right now is 2932 (Derbyshire).

lol! For a moment I thought you were excluding us slow-coaches from the line-up to keep it to yours and Sniglet's monster totals ;-) how on earth do you do it? I find NaNo each year to be like jumping into cold water. You psyche yourself up for it for days, but no matter how prepared you think you are for the shock, it always takes time to acclimatise to the temperature, start breathing properly and get swimming!

The score board is now automated and can be found here:

This board is updated every morning using the nanowrimo Word Count API, so will be more accurate than the one I did every other day.
I'm still checking to make sure that everyone is updating at least once a week, but I haven't had a chance to do that for the 12th yet. As soon as I do I'll arrange to have the adjustments made and post to let people know who's been removed. :)
