Brief Author Bio: 2002 - an unnamed fantasy novel. I'm a Masters student in Comparative Media Studies at MIT. My picture depicts me as I almost always write: alone in my dark room, clutching a "Jack Daniels: Our Benevolent Sponsor" cup in one hand, a faraway and desperate look in my eye, having consumed less whisky than I could but more than I should. |

Synopsis: Once Bitten
Alicia, who curates an art gallery, is drawn into a world of intrigue and violence when she features her grandmother's knife in a show. When supernatural forces begin attempting to kill her and steal her property, her only recourse is to join them - and become embroiled in a war between the Dark Folk and the Fair Folk.
Excerpt: Once Bitten
“Where is it?” the man asked.
“Mmmph!”
“Where is it?” the robber asked again, ignoring the fact that she couldn't speak. Her vision began to clear, and she saw his face. It was a grotesque, melted thing, as if he had been caught in a fire and healed without the benefit of plastic surgery. She ceased struggling for a moment, shocked.
“Where. Is. It.” he asked – or rather said, his twisted face twisting into an even more horrific sneer.
“What is it?” she finally managed to say, speaking around his dirty fingers. Even as she said the words, she knew what the answer was.
