“I know, Mom.” Jackson Molay shuffled his feet, staring at the pavement. If she gave him any more helpful suggestions he was going to scream. He was twenty seven, not twelve.
“I packed you some snacks.” His fourteen year old sister Jessa handed him a paper bag and bit her lip. She was really upset he was leaving.
Jackson actually felt bad about leaving her. They’d always been close, from the time she was born. He’d been the only thirteen year old boy on the block who baby sat on a regular basis, without complaining. She was growing up into a beautiful young woman, and it wasn’t her fault he was leaving.
It was Shawna’s fault.
