His goal, his one purpose in life, was to watch and protect her. She was the world in which he circled, pulled towards her always with a force more powerful than the strings that tie the universe together. He knows that her clouded view of human reality is fading away, and he knows that the moment she fully becomes aware is the moment his purpose could become fatally difficult.

She didn't live a great life, but there was nothing that wrong with it; until she starts hallucinating about "it"- that ever-present winged shadow. When more creatures that seem to have sprung from her dark dreams appear, she begins to doubt what in her life is real, and what is a monster in disguise. In one moment, she confronts that nameless fear, forever changing the course her life was supposed to take- the human one.
