That brought me back to reality. About what I’d comitted to in my marriage. Grace James wasn’t going to be around for those 4-6 months. She wouldn’t be the one holding the family together. She wouldn’t be the one working her butt off to pay the mortgages while taking care of a recovering husband at home and three kids.
Grace James was going to have to be out of our lives. Or there wouldn’t be anything left.
The doctor must have realised my state. He asked if I needed to call anyone.
Yes.
Was I staying the night?
No.
Did I want to see him?
That was the hardest question of all to answer. Did I? Did I really want to see the man who had come so close to completely ruining my life due to his selfish actions?
It should have been the easiest answer.
