Okay, I was inputting a much-needed sex scene (it's important to the plot) and found myself slapping myself in the head as I realized I had written a scene that was a bit too over the top for normal fiction. I suddenly felt like I was writing for Literotica. Is this acceptable or, where do you draw the line?

I'm not changing it becuase I like it, but, when would a publisher slash such a thing? Just curious.

D. H. Lawrence got away with it. Of course it was more than twenty years before we could read it in the U.S. But that was a few eons ago. It kind of depends on the overall impact of your book. Some types of publishers will no doubt want it because of the too-sexy scene, others will not want it for the same reason.

I f you leave it, and you like it...the worst that can happen? Your NaNo Count is up...potential publishers have something to edit and your mother sends you to bed without supper...probably be required to leave the light on in your room...door open, but...
