Two of my characters are having this long, hysteric break up scene (for lack of anything better to do) so I was wondering: does anyone have ideas of what they could complain about? Besides the plot-specific little bit where they blame each other for not having taken over the world yet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :-D

Are they teenagers, or adults? This would change the reasons for their fighting.

A teenager I'm in a play with had a break-up with her boyfriend recently. She's 15, and its SO ridiculous.
They sent the LONGEST text messages I've ever seen in my life back and forth. He complained that he had "never done so much for a girl to get so little in return" because she didn't text him back or something equally ridiculous like that.
And then he wanted to get back together and they refused, so now he's been calling/texting all her friends to try to get them to talk to her.
I didn't read the text messages, but I think the main thing would be not paying enough attention, not spending enough time, etc etc

Her cats leave hair everywhere
His cigarettes stink up her clothes
She spends too much money on her dog
He spends too much money on his friends
Her family is neurotic
His family is uptight
She drives too fast
He drives too slow
She sleeps through class and then copies his notes
He sleeps through movies she thinks are romantic
These are just a few that my partner and I argue about, and we're happily engaged. ;)
