Synopsis: Dead For A Day
So you wake up one day and realize that you're dead. Not only that, but you're not in your own home, you're naked, and an alien who happens to be doing an internship for his school is able to see you. If you think that's not bad enough, it seems that your little brother has been kidnapped by the same person who apparently is responsible for you being dead. Oh--and the other problem with that is that you can't remember dying and or anything leading up to it. The last thing you remember is going to bed the night before, and then waking up here, dead. Which, by the way, where is here?
MC #1 - "Sandleford" - 12 year old dead boy who is now a ghost trying to remember how he died, so he can prevent the same thing from happening to his younger brother.
SC #1 - "Sandleford's body" - His ghost may house the soul, but his body houses the memories. He's also been made insane by the events that transpired within the last twenty-four hours of his life. Whether he actually is getting up and moving around as MC #1 sees him doing, or whether it's just a hallucination/ethereal vision, this is anyone's guess. Since it's not yet an important issue, I haven't yet expounded upon it.
MC #2 - "David Darren Magtch" aka "Dave." He's also a 12 year old boy, but unbeknownst to the readers, his story occurs more than 20 years before Sandleford's. He is also a basketball prodigy with especial skill with uncanny ability to hit 3 pointers from nearly any random position in the gym; almost as if the ball has some kind of internal magnet device that seeks out the hoop. As a result, the basketball coach has issued a request for him to join the team. But he won't particularly enjoy the experience. He is also from an extremely academically gifted family and often feels as though he were the black sheep of his brothers.
SC #2 who is currently trying to morph into MC #6 - "Sand Ely Ford" aka "Ely." Notice any similarities to any other characters? Yes well, Ely is Sandleford's dead uncle. He died under mysterious circumstances as a . . . 12 year old boy (notice any other trends?). His body was never found. Ely's twin sister went on to have two sons; she named the first one after her dead brother due to the similarities in features that they shared even from the beginning.
Ely is also Dave's best friend in the earlier time line.
SC #3 - "Coach 'Damn It' Dawson." He's Dave's basketball coach who is more than a little annoyed at the boy's uncanny skill with the ball. If he doesn't manage to break him, then Dave will likely emerge as the star player. At the moment however, that breakdown seems rather eminent.
Plus, there have been rumors circulating for a number of years that not only is he verbally abusive to his players, but he sometimes also touches them in inappropriate ways.
SC #4 - "Coach Lloyd Edwin Lewis" aka "Coach E." He's the tennis coach who takes Dave under his wing as Dave finds himself pushed away by not only the basketball team/coach, but also from his family who seems to take offense at his interest in a non-academic subject. Coach E provides a strong masculine mentoring figure to Dave to go to when he hits his various breaking points along the way.
MC #3 - "Rondo" - he's the younger 8 year old brother of our MC #1. They were both kidnapped; however he, unlike his brother, is still alive and currently fighting desperately for his life.
MC #4 - "Kidnapper" - insane giggling pedophile of a kidnapper, I might add. I've only revealed glimpses of him so far. Although I haven't mentioned anything of the sort, it would seem that he is a former pupil of MC #5.
MC #5 "The man" - math teacher pedophile who is molesting the students under his care in the earlier time line.
SC #5 - "Kenneth" - Dave's older honor roll brother. Science is his forte. He hangs out with a plethora of other geeky guys.
SC #6 - "Samuel" - Dave's younger brother. He's a child prodigy in painting and other mediums. He's also very charismatic as well as generally humble and kind.
SC #7 - "Peter" - MC #5's first child.
Those are the only named ones that I have. Dave and Ely's parents get mentioned a fair amount of times, but that's just about it. Oh and its intensely possible that some of the characters listed above may be the same people.
