Synopsis: Chronic Absence

Time travel romance-type thing with some horror elements. Let my creation LIVE!

The primary setting is the fairly ordinary Rozenbridge Public High School, in the town of Einstein. (No relation, we swear!)

Initial timeline:
Long-lasting love triangle with Jennifer having to choose between Arthur and Elliot eventually resolves itself in Arthur's favor. Elliot doesn't take this very well and reacts by absorbing himself into physics, eventually ending up on a research team that invents time travel. Elliot steals the machine and heads back in time, but almost dies on arrival due to the team's security measures.

Timeline 2: Elliot1 arrives shortly after the initial rejection and tells Elliot2 how to use the device. Elliot2 is rather skeptical about this - he hasn't been stewing over this for years, and being an avid science fiction reader understands that it won't be him who ends up with Jennifer anyway, but "another him" - but seeing what would eventually happen to him otherwise decides to follow through, and makes a series of excursions back in time to collect information about Arthur's history to preserve the timeline as much as possible and take his place in various events as necessary. However, one of Jennifer's friends, Gavin, observes what happened and follows him. (Trust me when I say my time travel model allows for this, okay?)

Timeline 3 (and a few): Due to Elliot2's manipulations, Arthur was never born (he is effectively replaced by a "sister", named Morgan). Jennifer3 and Elliot3 fall in love, but the match is somewhat imperfect, and Elliot2 is forced to similarly disappear Gavin3 and kidnap Gavin2 to keep him from messing things up.

Timeline 4: Elliot2 goofed again. Arthur's information has been mostly cleared up, and Gavin is unborn as well, but his "disappearance" of Gavin3 was hastily done, and several anomalous objects - photographs, etc - have appeared in the timeline - enough for Jennifer4 to catch on to the fact that her life has been manipulated by her current boyfriend and her One Twoo Wuv is "out there" somewhere. Plot happens, assorted other characters find out, and Jennifer4 succeeds in freeing Gavin2. Jennifer4 ends up deciding, like Elliot2, to ensure that at least one of her is happy. Morgan4 finds out and is understandably upset that Jennifer4 plans to erase her from history.

Major plot happens. (If this sounds really, really long, I plan to start from Jennifer4's perspective and have her learn about the other timelines in flashback from Gavin2, along with the reader.)

Final Timeline X: Approximate reproduction of Timeline1. JenniferX chooses ArthurX, as before. ElliotX's self-destructive path is averted due to an intervention by [DATA EXPUNGED]. Other previously unmentioned plot twists resolve, and they all live happily ever after. Probably.

...Ta da!
