Synopsis:

Penny Nichols (yes, she's heard the joke) lived a pretty normal life. She owned her own upscale boutique that allowed her to do what she loved, collect anique and vintage jewelry. She was helping one of her best friends plan her wedding and comforting her sister who had just broken up with her boyfriend. At least she was normal, until the day she got a great deal on a priceless necklace, and when she put it on she couldn't get it off again.

Cole Trentham, son of the Earl of Trentham, Mage, and member of the Order of the Guardians has just recieved a very interesting assignment; retrive the Star of Life amulet from the estate of Grand Master Worthington in Virginia and bring it back to the Order's headquarters in London. A simple fetch and carry job, but when Cole arrives at the Worthington estate to find the amulet has been sold, things get a bit more complicated.

Now Cole is trying protect Penny from Witches, Mages, and Vampires who all want to take the amulet for their own purposes. Unfortunately for Penny, the only way to take the amulet is to take it off her dead body.
