Synopsis: What You Don't Know CAN Hurt You
It all started with a prophecy, repeated numerous times by the chosen, to preserve his homeland.
Sacha, the latest incarnation of the chosen, has been given only the clues to go west and "find the one that controls the man who manipulates steel and fire."
Can Sacha find the one who fits this strange request, no matter how far it takes him? And will he discover more to the prophecy than has ever been revealed?
Excerpt: What You Don't Know CAN Hurt You
Tendrils of smoke from the incense began to curl and twist in the dark room, forming a figure that wasn’t human. This was what the young man was expecting but he shifted uncomfortably at the sight. He hadn’t known what the form would resemble but this looming creature wasn’t the picture that had formed in his mind.
Two lights materialized where eyes should be and a hazy claw hovered near the wavering human’s face. The creature spoke in an otherworldly voice, “You are the chosen. Do not show apprehension.”
He nodded in silence and attempted to look more dignified as the creature’s eyes flickered. It was looming over him now, perhaps deliberately, as it continued to speak from somewhere other than the shape of jagged teeth made from the wisping smoke, “You wish to know of your appointed task. To retain peace in this land as the prophecy dictates.”
The young man’s strangely blue eyes focused meaningfully on the creature. Of course he wanted to know. Who wouldn’t?
The creature approached, closing the distance between them to an awkward point, but the human didn’t move from the spot he knelt on. “You must travel to foreign lands in the west. From there, you will find an omen that will show the way...” the glowing points of the creature’s eyes flared before disappearing and the monstrous form slowly began dematerializing, “Find the one that controls the man that manipulates steel and fire...”
