Synopsis: Zafters

Addie Ellstrom lives in a vast city on a dying earth with her brother, Paul. Paul is all she has in the world, and the only person who truly loves her, ever since their parents died in an accident before the Great Immigration to the last city on earth. But Paul has disappeared, and Addie's only clue to finding him is a gang of Zafters—criminals who ride the backs of the city's trains. It's illegal and highly dangerous, but each person has their reasons for zafting. For most, it's the only way they can feel free and alive in a grim and dying world. For Addie, it's a way to find her brother. But zafting becomes a method of survival once they discover something that can only be seen from the outside of a speeding train. Something city officials have kept buried for decades, and will forever change the inhabitants of the last city on earth.
