Synopsis: The Reluctant Witch-King of Dalliance, Maine
For a first-year journalism major at the University of Maine in Tecumseh, it all begins with a marijuana-scented rumor of a haunted plantation that is, in fact, a forest. Add a white dog, a herd of deer, one well-used storage pod, and you get Giovanni Peretti, the youngest, bossiest hermit our heroine ever met in her life. Actually, the only hermit she ever met in her life. He only leaves his domain for the necessaries, such as his bi-monthly tattoo update with the gender-blended Dannie or a quartz-finding expedition from the elderly and perpetually lost Mr. Gneiss. Gio has land, wealth, and plenty of friends, but what he really needs is a cute, innocent, amateur journalist, and the fates (and his dog) have driven one right to his door, or, you know, clearing. Soon our sweet heroine and her cynical roommate, Ramona, are chasing witches, vampires, and Discordianists all over the no-longer quiet town of Dalliance. When the community begins to reveal to her its history and hierarchy, our heroine finds herself increasingly in awe of her strange guide. Her interviews reveal more questions than answers: Not just about Dalliance and the occult, but about sex, family, and honor. *NOW WITH HOT LESBIAN ACTION!!! XD
