Excerpt:

“Noooo,” said Mitch, not willing to accept what his eyes told him. “That happened in Jurassic Park. Not in real life.”

Sonja looked at him blankly.

“Jurassic Park. You did read Jurassic Park, didn't you? You did at least see Jurassic Park? One of the first movies with really good computer animation. Everyone went to the movie, just to see how realistic the dinosaurs looked.”

Sonja continued to look blank. Apparently she had not heard of Jurassic Park.

“Well, in the story, they clone dinosaurs, for a wildlife park. Only in the end the dinosaurs get loose.”

“Oh. So what happens to them?”

“In the book, they have to firebomb the island to kill all the dinosaurs. In the movie, they just abandon the island, so the dinosaurs will be around for the sequel.”

Except in our case – oh, God, no no no – this is the sequel! This is where we find out what really happens. Except this can't be real. This just does not happen! Mitch looked suspiciously at the ceiling, toward the unseen but ever- present monitor camera. “April Fools?”

“Mitch,” said Sonja quietly, “it is June.”

Where had this women been all her life? Doesn't she get anything? “This has to be a joke. Someone has set all this up. A joke, a prank – to see how much panic they can make us. And they are sitting somewhere, watching those cameras, and laughing at us.”
