Finally, we all wonder if the debut will really go as smoothly as Angel's planner said it would, even with the frequently flashing camera, the peanut allergy, all the yelling and the screaming and the stoic, brief letters from one Dad.
It really IS going to be one of the most interesting birthday parties in history.
Excerpt: Debut
She gathered her things, aware of the tall figure right next to her, doing the same thing. She concentrated on her quill, on twisting the cap of her ink bottle tightly so it wouldn’t spill…anything, but the guy right next to her. Damn Kairi and Naomi for putting the idea into her head! Now she felt awkward…really awkward.
“Angel?”
“Huh? What?”
Really, really awkward.
Armand handed her something. She looked down and saw that it was her smallest Charms book. She looked back up at him, opening and then closing her mouth. He looked puzzled, his hand still holding the book.
“You look like a fish.” He said, smiling, but still puzzled, “What’s the matter with you?”
Well, Armand, Kairi and Naomi think you’re the perfect escort for my debut ball. You know what’s funny? I think you’re the perfect escort too! Haha! By the way, to add icing on the cake, I like you!
“Nothing!” Angel replied quickly, snatching the book from his hand and shoving it in her bag.
She had to get out of there before she said anything…untowardly.
