I love nano. It's the only time I get to chat with writers whom I don't know. The other 11 months I spend writing can get very long. So who else writes all year?

I write all year around also... and as a general tip, just keep hanging around on these forums... there are more writers who hang around all year really...

Really? That's cool. I did this last year, and just left after November. I usually have to change my name each year because I forgot it, too.

I write all the time...I'm actually putting a current project on hold for Nano. Although my other projects right now are co-written.

Yeah, I write all year as well. . . It can actually be kind of hard to set aside my current WIP and work on something totally fresh for NaNoWriMo, but it's tons of fun!!

I write all year round. I also frequent this web site all year round. It doesn't ever really die; never fear that happening. There's always a few dozen around here. So even if you drop by in July, you'll find people happily chattering about their current writing projects and rewrites.

I write all year round... both fanfiction and original. The boards are always open too, so I sometimes drop by if I have a query or something...

Yes, I do write all year long. I'm what you might call a "semi-pro" writer. I write and sometimes I get paid for it, but I'm retired and don't have to depend on the income. (Thank whatever gods there be!) I write mysteries, fantasy, and science fiction for an ebook publisher, and I write Harry Potter fan fiction for fun when I just want to mess around. This is my first time with NaNoWriMo. I decided to try it because I've been getting really bogged down on first drafts, and figured NaNo would force me to write a draft and not edit while I'm doing it.

I write pretty much all the time; between my personal stuff, fanfiction, world building for rp, and collaborative efforts with my partner, I've usually got something going. The hard part is going from cool idea to actual written story, which is why I'm doing NaNo...

I write all year. I'd go crazy if I didn't. It's the only way to shut the voices up.

Yep. Not all the time, but I definitely write outside of NaNo. I wish I had the time and motivation to write every day.

Pretty much, yeah. There are times when I lapse into periods of non-writing, but usually that's when I concentrate on illustrating my comics, which involves writing too, but it just doesn't rely as heavily on it as writing a novel.

But yep, I love writing, and I stick around these forums thoughout the year too. It seems to me that it's pretty active whatever the month around here.

Nuther all year round kinda guy here ;) sort of... i write whenever i can, doesnt necessarily mean all year round :P just whenever i have something that i want to write, you know? i like to stick around on the forums after Nano, but in all honesty it kinda dies and theres not enough people to keep my attention so i sort of disperse back into the real world :(

I never used to, partially because I write non-fiction all day. But this last year, yes, I've been writing non-fiction all year. This is why I feel justified 'cheating' by continuing with my current trilogy - it's all about writing, now, not winning Nano. It's thanks to Nano that I've got this far, though, so that's why I stay here. I like it here :)

Yep. Just try and stop me :)

I need to get an agent now that I'm finally getting to the point where I have something publishable.

I try. NaNoWriMo is how I focus myself to actually finish something. Beyond that, I write pieces here and there, and a lot of fanfiction/roleplaying goodness. Original work, though, I've kinda abandoned for the last year.

I hope I can finally get these characters of mine and their stories done this time! (This will be my 3rd attempt at NaNo, with the same story, just different takes to try to get me to actually write it out.)

I write all of the time, I love writing. I've only written mostly poetry just because it's easier than a full length novel. I have so many ideas for novels but just no inspiration or motivation to write them. NaNoWriMo gives me a chance to get something written.

Yes - I write a lot of stuff, and even some fanfiction here and there. But I write a lot. Nano is just something I'll try this year, and seeing how it goes, I might keep doing it. I'm liking the forums, though.

I write all year. But NaNo is definitely my most productive time. Usually it's a page or two here and there if I can squeeze it in between work and school. Now that I'm out of school, though, and just working I'm hoping to up that a bit and see if I can keep my NaNo momentum going after November this year. I think I'd go crazy if I didn't write all year.

I write all year as well. In fact, I've been writing for about 14 years. But only seriously with HUGE improvements since High School when I studied under a published and well-known in the horror genre author. Those were the best three years of my writing career. Since then I've had a chapbook and a few articles published.

I never stop writing. In addition to writing, plotting, and planning my books I have a blook (blog book links on my web site). There is a day-by-day dragon calendar that I write quotes on the back for each picture, then post them on my main blog. I have written short stories for compilation books, upblished articles about writing.

Though my series may not be the only thing I write, I do write all the time. If I don't write I might explode! (I do that sometimes.)

I start things all year. Somewhere between 3 and 20 pages later, I get distracted and don't think about it again until a new idea hits me, and I think, oh yeah, what was that other story?

NaNo's the one thing that pushes me to keep at it. I thrive on deadlines, and self-imposed ones just don't cut it for me.

Now this give me an idea: The thirteen-month NaNo. NaNoWriYePlMo, if you will (National Novel Writing Year Plus Month). It's more about endurance than speed.

Standard: 650,000 words. The same as normal NaNo, just thirteen times as long.

Extreme: 1,000,000 words. That's 77,000 or so words a month.

Oh yeah, I definitely do! I work on things I want to publish the rest of the year now that I've gotten serious about writing. NaNo is for my personal shared-world project. Plus, it's a blast being a part of a world-wide word fest!

I write all year long, but I've never attempted a novel before. I'm normally more into the screenplay sort of thing, and my notebooks are full of ideas for movies and TV shows. I honestly decided to go for NaNo because I came up with a story that I felt I couldn't tell as easily as a movie, and it happened to be the end of October.

I do. I write in a fancfic club for practice and stress relief, but I also work on outlines, ideas and a couple of other slow moving novels. I joined NaNo to help me get the lead out and finish some of them sooner rather than later. So far, the most I have had published were some short pornography stories, but I’m ready for bigger things and publication of the novel kind.

If I did not write I’d go crazy….well crazier.

Of course I do! I don't know why anyone would want to stop, just because it wasn't NaNoWriMo. Like their writing lives revolved around it or something. O.o

I write all the time - it's my idea of fun, and it's been my passion for the last few years. I've been horribly unsuccessful at finishing a novel, though; I get about a maximum of ten pages in, then loose focus and it kind of dies... This is my first year writing anything with NaNoWriMo, and it should be a good experience. I might even finish the novel. :O

Definitely. This is just my 'let's actually get something done' month, because other than that, I just write, but I never finish the blasted novel.

Yup. Every day. Journal, blog, articles, fiction WiP, nonfiction WiP, two Ebooks in progress. Not all of it can be put on hold for my first NaNoWriMo, so it will be a squeeze, but I'm ready for some crazy, word pounding fun.
