Hey thanks for the shoutout forum! It really helps when you're trying to find a specific one. :)

Are you gonna be moving the threads in this forum to that one?

Yes! Obviously, thanks to caching, I can't get them all at once, but as I see them, I'll be moving them over there.

Oh.

Is that not a bit like fingerpainting in a room entirely lined with newspaper? Busking with a licence in an approved location? Graffiti walls? Takes all the fun out of it, to my mind.

When something takes up most of the first two or three pages of two separate forums... it needs its own forum. ;)

I'd say that, judging by the number of people using it (there have been around 60 threads created since the forum's inception), it's fun for somebody!

This is a great idea!

I remember last year having difficulties deciding whether to post in the Reaching 50,000 forum or the This is Going Better Than I Expected forum, not wanting to be really irritating and do both. Now, I don't have to worry about that!

More like using the toilet instead of taking a leak on the carpet, if you'll pardon the rather crude analogy.

Considering the number of threads in the shoutouts forum, quite a few of which are repeats of numbers that have already been posted, I personally think it's better that they have their own place rather than choking up the other two forums that they were in.

Great idea! I've used it several times and it is great motivator to reach a point to Shout Out.

It's all in one place and when I need ecouragement, I know where to go!

Thanks!

Keep an eye out I'll be there again soon!

See you at the finish line!

I'm not doing so great. Sniff, sniff. I just feel like shouting out my whole book. Is it okay if I do that?

At 44,000 words this morning, i started at 8 AM and pounded out enough to complete my 50,000 word deadline at 2:30 PM. my word count shows me to be a winner in my first NaNoWriMo contest. Now I have to figure out how to finish the story I started. It feels good to complete something.

Since people are posting their shoutouts on this thread, rather than in the shoutouts forum, I'm going to lock this topic to further replies.
