I see plenty of zombie and vampire themes, but is anyone else working with ghosts? Mine sort of glow in the dark - or rather they can if they want - is that typical?

In my work of fiction, actually the wolf in the wild contains the spirit or ghost of the main characters murdered guard dog, but nothing is said about it in the story, you have to figure it out for yourself. In fact, the matter is only briefly and casually alluded to

I think there are ghosts in my story. They haven't told me, yet, what they are. I can't remember who said/wrote the adage about seeing ghosts: How do you know you've never seen one? But that's been my guide when writing about them. My ghosts are just like everyone else. Only people who know the 'people' they're interacting with are dead know they're ghosts.

One of my MCs is a ghost. Nothing is seen from her point of view, but she is seen a lot from the main character's point of view and the main driving force of the novel. She's also my muse.

I describe her as she looks. She appears both at day and night, and I've not made her translucent or glowing, though I've never said anything to suggest that she isn't. More like, I describe her as she looks, and how sometimes she feels like a solid being, only so cold, numbing anything that touches her.

I luffs her <3

Mine are... kinda ghosts? They exist inside an estate and the grounds of a hospital, neither of which they can leave. But they are entirely physical, you just... can't see them or interact with them in any way unless they don't mind and they can influence of the minds of the people about them so that they are considered normal fixtures.

I do. They are mostly similar to residual hauntings- like the past rewinding and playing again. And in some cases, the future too. They are mostly sounds.

One of them, though, is intelligent and actually present. He doesn't manifest, though...not yet. And when he tries, all the power goes out. He is not scary to my MC, but he opens doors and crunches leaves . I'm really enjoying him.

I love that since Paranormal is....well, never really normal, there are no rules.

I've got a ghost in my novel. He breaks glass and pushes people and my characters can hear him walking around sometimes, but they only see him as a shadow in certain rooms of the house.

As long as you establish and then play by the rules of your story, a ghost can do whatever it wants.

I have two ghosts in my story. I'm really not sure what to do with them other than scaring the main characters. I would like to write some chapters in their perspective. Ghosts were people too. I want my readers to have a little sympathy for the ghosts in my story. They can't just be completely evil. They can't help it they died before they had children of their own and now they want the children of my MC! Are there adoption agencies for the dead? Not likely. So they have to pilfer from the family they are living with.

I have one ghost scene, but it's very short. Mostly I work with demons and angels. I love working with ghosts usually though. Most of my other stories have a fairly large ghost bit. If the main monster isn't a ghost that is.

My ghosts are more the shadows you see out of the corners of your eyes. At least, they start out that way. Only certain people can see them, at first. They get much more aggressive as the story progresses.

I think your ghosts can be anything you want.

We just went into the underworld, so I suppose there are ghosts. They're transparent and predominantly hostile creatures.

In my story, (not a Nano one) you don't actually see the main ghost, but she keeps sending the MC letters. Then she starts telling him about her father. She starts talking about how he's scary and all the jazz, and then things start going wrong in the town, then in the MC's house, the girls letters are more urgent, he still hasn't seen her... Tangent = Very bad.
Yes, I have ghost's. Ghost = Very yes.

Define ghosts.

I have an afterworld in the story that the sort-of-protagonist (really, it depends which character you like better) visits, with the souls of the dead clambering for warmth they'll never get form the living. Because he's in a comatose state, he can interact with the spirits of dead children, teens, adults, and elders, all who have different roles and are separated by age in their society.

They all bear wounds of their death. But only a few can actually run around in the world of the living, and those are scouts that make sure that the balance of the living and dead is somewhat maintained.

The one scout I have can only be seen by the dead, or by her host.

My ghosts/spirits come from Purgatory, mainly. One strong-willed ghost (with strange powers) is set free from a demon Overlord who tells her to possess her husband's new wife.

He sets her free and makes this deal, because he originally lost a soul and is attempting to collect a new one from Purgatory- this is is considered high treason in Hell. The Oracle will find out and basically attempt to take the stolen soul and destroy him.

Whew...

The spirits/ghosts in my book are not necessarily violent, but take on the personality they had when they were living. If you were a nice person, you'll be a nice ghost. That sort of thing.

This spirit was greedy and in need to be with her husband in the living world, so she made a deal wih a demon Overlord and possessed her husband's new wife.

My ghosts can possess people, but we also have their natural enemy:

Soul devourers. Near the end a soul devourer comes into the picture. But I won't give away too many details. If you want to see the rest, you can find me in the swap novel section of the forums.

My ghosts are sort of like jello- globulous and not uniform at all. They can only speak through telepathy and based on their "will" they can possess the living or speak to fellow ghosts and demons in Hell.

Mine was a sequel to a ghost story. My ghosts glowed to some people, but not to everyone. Everyone saw them differently, based on their fears.

Mine, no. Only some people can see them, and if it is a ghost of dead people then it is usually transparent and looked like when how they died. But sometimes it is not necessarily so.
