About 16,000. That's assuming you start a day at like 8 pm. The most in an actual day was about 11k.

I don't even want to look at those people churning out 40k in one day! So disgusting and/or depressing. ;)

My personal best so far has been 2275 words in a day. I need to write 2500 each day this weekend to get caught back up, so hopefully that will be my new "biggest word count" soon. :)

I write about 5k a day lately, so far today only like 4k but I am NOT going to bed until I get to 60k! Last Sunday I jumped from 26,352 to 40,168 which is 13,816words. My biggest day EVER was last November 30th when I went from like 48k to 63.5k between 6pm and like 11:57pm. It was a MAD DASH to say the very least but when my 11:55 alarm went off and I checked my word count like the coward I was I was SURPRISED!

Day 1, where I got 10,021. My first ever 10k day. Did pretty good on day 2 as well, with over 8k! More sensible totals since then.

Day 1 has been my best day every time, I find that rush of enthusiasm for the event, and the pent up story I've been waiting to write really gives me a flying start. So this year I totally leveraged that effect, used the weekend start, made sure I had nothing to do but write for those two days and by day 2 had 18,000 words! I'm doing something similar for the final weekend. Even if I've alread hit my 100k target, I'm going to get as many words as I can on the 29th and 30th, to try to get as near to the end as possible.

I just looked at my nano chart thing, and I think the biggest day was around 16k... I had a few of those, really. The rest are like either a few above or below I think.. well, most days 10k or 12k or something.

For me it was last weekend on Saturday, when I wrote about 7000 words. It could have been much more, but I had other things to do too. =P

6k - i try to get 20 pages (5k a day) when i'm writing normally (not doing nano) which is tough because i have to work 10 hour days to get that since i usually only nail out 2-3 pages an hour - but the first 20 pages always come the fastest. it's the rest that seem to come slow.

One time a long time ago I wrote a whole story overnight. it came out to about 35,000 words. I have not been able to duplicate that since. Most nights are around 3 -5 thousand now.

I think it was somewhere between 4 and 5 thousand words. I don't get a lot of time to write so I think that was about 2 hours worth of work. Now if only I could get that going again.

Well, you are about to start the greatest improvisation of all. With no script. No idea what's going to happen, often with people and places you have never seen before. And you are not in control. So say "yes".

Didn't come close to that since, though I do have four days over 4000 and a few close to 4000.
Perhaps this weekend I'll break the record =)

10553 on day one this year. 15017 on day one in 2006 seems to be my biggest day ever. I usually have really big first days. My theory is that the novel's grown so big and ready to explode out of me that it all just goes flump onto the page and then I slow down on later days, which also means that the first bit needs the most editing because I've been writing so fast to keep up with what I'm thinking that it doesn't always come out all that well-written.

12k, November 1st.
I also had enough time last Sunday to do a 16k day - I had 4k by 8am - but sadly things happened and writer's block set in, meaning I only just managed 8k. I could have done it, I swear! (I'd try it again this weekend, but there isn't 16k left ;))

Just over 5k.

Not that great, haha. But I think the most I wrote last year was 6k, so it's not so different.

On the first day I managed to bang out 7,007 words; the most I've ever written at once. I could have kept on going but I stopped for my sanity's sake.
