I've been searching for ages now and I can't find anything useful so I hope you guys can help.
My main character is human and she's having some trouble with demons. She already tried to kill one by shooting him in the head and the heart (with silver bullets) but as you can imagine the demon was not killed and came back to live- pissed.
Now my question: What can she do? How could she kill the demon or get rid of it?
She's human and has no clue about magic and since that world is pretty far away from Christian standarts and ideas, an exorzism is not possible.
She could bargain with it but I guess that's nothing she'd do. How else might she get rid of it or kill it? Any ideas?

Cutting off its head maybe?
Thanks for reading and maybe helping :)

Cutting his head off, maybe. I don't see how anything coul survive that. Is it possible for her to get some sort of special/magical weapon? Perhaps she has to make special bullets herselve, or burn their bodies with a certain type of wood after they are killed? Stabbing? Arrow point dipped in an elixir?

I'll check back if I think of something else...

Bind it with salt, maybe. Holy water, silver chains, perhaps?

Hmmm...I don't think you kill demons. I think you vanquish them. Like send them back to where they came from and they flee hoping someone will summon them again or that they will find a way to escape again.

I had a similiar problem in my novel. And my main character wound up trapping the creature in an amulet.

I'm working with demons as well. I don't know if you use anything special to kill them like other creatures of the dark. Perhaps only devine magic can kill them but they can be injured by a mortal weapon. Just not killed maybe? I don't know. I have them just able to die like a human, but they're extra strong and they have powers and magic and all that jazz so therefore an advantage. Just a suggestion...

First off what denomination is she? If she's Catholic, then she can get a priest. Anything else and it will be a bit different. Because you do not kill demons, you banish them back to hell. And the only way to do that is through exorcism, or a binding with faith. Is your character full of faith? Honest, true faith? Then the demon's can't hurt her anyway, because to touch someone who honestly believes and has faith, would hurt them more than they could hurt the other person.

that's only if you're linking demons with the devil. You can have demons without the devil or hell. That's what I have. You can kill them. THey don't have to be exorcized (sp?). They could be like a seperate species if you want. THere are pleanty of instances in literature where the demons are not beings from hell. If that's the kind of book you're writing though, then that's fine. You don't have to do that if you don't want to though

My main character is an atheist and as far away from a catholic as you can get. The whole world differes a lot from the Christian believe/faith system and as I stated above, exorzism is not possible. But maybe it is possible with magic.
I thought about banishing it back to it's demension maybe.
Already solved that problem but I guess it will not be the last time that a demon will come along so I want to be prepared ;)

Thanks for all your suggestions, guys!

I see it's too late for this thread. but I just saw it and I wanted to suggest something I used. My MC is also an atheist, yet this is his second novel with supernatural beings. One of the ways he kills a very powerful vampire (not a demon, but still pretty tough), was catastrophic damage. It doesn't matter whether a semi-truck is made of silver or that a rocket propelled grenade is not magically charmed--it does enough damage that the demon or whatever can't recover or magically survive it.
