I think a task is always more heroic if you complete it in the nick of time... as all fantasy heroes (and novelists) must.

So, who among my fellow fantasy novellists completed Nano with less than two hours to go?

I did! But then I got over-zealous and overshot, so its all good. :)

Not that I'm even close to finished the actual novel, that is.

I am not mentally equipped for Hamlet at this time.

I finished with 6 to spare. Not nearly as daring, but I also have a conference abstract to complete by midnight! ;)

Great job, everyone! :D

Ok, this doesn't apply this time, but in April Fools 2006, I hit my goal (100k) with about 15 minutes to spare, and I won by 2 words.

o_O Crazy lucky, I was.

Me! Reached 50k in the final hour, same as last year, although with a whole 50 minutes to spare this time, way better than the nerve-wracking 15 minutes to spare I finished with last year. 6411 words in 24 hours for the win. That's quite a lot, for me.

I finished about five hours ago. I didn't actually finish up the novel until about an hour ago though. Pretty impressive to me considering I had half the novel to write when I woke up on Wednesday morning.

That's absurd...I love it.

I did 10,000 words today...my arms are aching, and I'm nauseous from the nacho bel grande I had earlier. BUT I DID it. It was ten-thirty something at night when I finished. So, yeah, I'm in the same boat.

All I have to say is, I am glad I had write or die...death is some motivation!

Write or die is fantastic! It really helped me out, too.

I finished my word count with cooshy enough time, but I didn't get through my last chapter until two hours before the deadline.

Me! I finished at the absolute last minute - around 11:20 p.m. local time on 11/30/08, writing 7000 words in the last 24 hours to cross the finish line. I'm simply thrilled for me - and the rest of y'all. Congrats! Woo!

I rewarded myself with a t-shirt and donation, too.

Now that NaNoWriMo is over, NaHoCleMo (National House Cleaning Month) begins. :)

Sadly, I could not make the 50k mark. It is hard to write a book when you are in college and doing work. I only made it to 15,000 words T.T

But, next year however, I SHALL DEFEAT THE 50K!

Haha, I did, I finished with about an hour to spare, but I forgot to set my region for daylight savings time, so I actually finished with only about 10 minutes to go on the site's clock :O

Not that my novel is actually "finished" ... it's about two thirds of the way through, or maybe even only half way through.

I won with about four minutes left to go. That was the closest I have ever cut it. I plan on winning days before the end of November next year, keep myself from stressing out.

Sadly I did not, though I still continue my story. Unfortunately, compounding this, my name is not Nick, nor do I descend from (or own as the connotation sometimes is) a place called Time.

I didn't cut it nearly as close as anyone here, but I finished with about twenty-three and a half hours to go.
