Hmm.... Well, I didn't finish this attempted NaNo novel, but I didn't really like the plot. It was boring, no where near as exciting as what I usually write. But now I've got a brand-spankin'-new idea, and I'm bursting to scream it to the world.

A VAMPIRE STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no. Here comes a sordid tale of the sparkly vegetarian vampire falling in love with the breakable human. Hopefully his doting family will accept her!!! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!

Twilight was good, but I think that vampires are getting a bit too cuddly in the human mind. C'mon now, don't we all want to have a sexy sparkly boyfriend after reading that?? It's time to wake the world up. A vampire story is stewin' in the back of my head, and I think it just may be the anti-twilight.

Terrifying. Grotesque. Darkly humorous. Chalk-white, night loving creatures in all black and sporting capes. Mouths full of insicors. Bloodlust and the desire for vengance after two thousand years of imprisionment. Ancient Roman monsters released on the world of today. My head is buzzing with ideas.

I've come up with names, a plot, and drawn out a rough sketch of the cover. No random story idea has ever manifested itself so deeply into my mind before. Thank you NaNo.

Who else has been suddenly struck with the idea mallet here? What's your story for December?? Surely others beside me are going to continue writing after twelve tonight. Share your new endeavor here!!

I will go back to the second draft of my first novel. Want to finish that before Xmas. On the subject of vampires, well mine are not the cuddly kind, that's for sure! Technically they are not your classic vampire, as they do not up in flames at sunrise or transmit their curse through blood, but they do have demon blood in them which makes the go all apocalyptic when the Hunger takes over. And what happens when the Hunger hits them? Not pretty, but imagine the worse destructive behavior possible and then add the fact that the actor is inhuman strength, speed and oodles of temporal power (money and connections). Now that is a vampire!

I've come up with the basics for my next six novels already. Haha. The first five are elemental and the sixth is the one that joins them all together. I have a few names and ideas for each, but nothing set in stone except the overall plot so far. For December though, I'm writing a fanfic that I put off because of NaNo.

The story that I started on the 18th has spawned itself into a two part series, with a third book about the two MC's kid.

I'm doomed, aren't I?

That sounds great. The more the merrier. Mine should be the start of a trilogy, I hope!

Ah, amen to that!! Yup, I'm completely inexperienced when it comes to vampires. This is my first ever attempt at writing a vampire novel.

So quick question.. If your vampires don't transmit through blood, how are new vampires made? (This is probably morbid curiosity...)

I might finish the scene I was on tonight, but until semester's over, I'm done with fiction writing until break. Once break starts, I'm going back to some of my fanfics (which were bombarding me with ideas all month, thank god i wrote them down). Starting in January, I'm gonna finish this story, edit, and plan it's sequel(s).

Last week, an idea for a vampire story popped into my head and I'd been excited ever since to finish NaNo so I could start it. And finally got to today!
It's so fun... mine's more of a satire of the sudden ridiculous obsession with vampires (to be fair, I liked Twilight, but I still think the obsessive fangirliness is crazy, so I thought I'd have some fun with it)... it's about a vampire who has fallen horribly in love with the idea of dating a human thanks to reading way too many novels, and will be spending four books trying to find his perfect match, only to continously get dumped because he's very annoying and immature ^_^

The old fashion way, they are born! So in a way, it is still a "disease" of the blood (as it is 100% transmitted from one parent to the next) Catch is that because of their demonic heritage the fetuses (almost always more than one) turn on each other (and their mother) at the beginning of the third trimester. So only 20% of vampire pregnancies end with a successful delivery and less that 10% of mothers survive said delivery (even with modern medicine at their side). That and older vampires loath to have children (they can live for hundreds of years, maybe more, if they don't get killed off), since they don't want the competition.

Add to this a fetish for control that leads to a severe streak of eugenics among vampires and well, they don't run amok across the globe. Also the vampires cull their own numbers. The expressions of the Hunger are so severe (mass murder, rape, serial murder, etc) that in order to protect themselves anyone who puts the Syndicate in danger (and for some reason do not fall to human authorities).

What happens if the Hunger is not fed? Well the body literally consumes itself. It is a mixture of a run away fever, total psychotic breakdown and a drug overdose. Not pretty. To vampire feeding the Hunger is like eating for you and me although they don't do it that often, depends on the individual but weeks, even months can pass between "feedings".

YAY FOR EVIL VAMPIRES *high fives everybody* I don't have any myself...yet...but when I do THEY WILL DISMEMBER AND KILL WITHOUT ABANDON D=<

Poor vamps, so preteenified in these past few years...*sighs and pets vampires* Says the preteen :'D

I actually think I'm going to go for something sci-fi next year...there's a story that's been hanging around in my head for a while waiting to get written. Either that or one of the other...*counts* three or four major ideas hanging around.

I *love* this idea!!! Ever watch the short lived series "Moonlight"? There was an episode about a teenager who got turned...I can't remember what network it was but google it and see if you can't find that episode...it may give you some ideas.

I'm going to finish my novel, hopefully, by the end of the month. Then I'll move on to a new story, one that I can work on until next NaNo. It'll be about vamps, too. But evil ones. Nothing at all like Twilight.

Ooh, thanks, I'll check that out
This is also the first story I'm taking so seriously that I'm actually doing research for it (usually I just invent other worlds so I can avoid that lengthy process... so lazy), which is odd since it's a comedy... but I'm glad the idea sounds cool
I started writing yesterday, and character development has been a blast so far
