While reading an original work of fiction requires little background information, except perhaps a knowledge of the usual conventions of the genre, reading fanfiction and critiquing it well usually requires someone to have read the book/ seen the movie/TV show, etc.
So, I'm looking for someone familiar with Battlestar Galactica to critique my BSG fanfic novel. I'm willing to read and critique fanfic from any fandom I'm familiar with or even an original work of fiction from someone who likes reading fanfic.

SUMMARY: For fifteen years, the rag-tag fleet has wandered through the wilderness of space. The harbinger has yet to return, the four are blind, and humanity clings to an increasingly fragile and desolate existence. Lost amid so many Lost is Petra Trace, the child who spites fate, who sets the plan astray. The path she travels, the darkness that has fallen upon her, may well shatter her entirely. And if it does, all is lost, for she is now the only one who can restore all things.
SUBGENRE: Dystopic? Is that a subgenre?
KNOWN ISSUES: There are a ton of original characters, and given that this is fanfiction, I want people to like them, or hate them, or whatever. But to care about them and not think they're boring. I think I've accomplished that, but I'm too close to the story to know for sure.
CRITIQUE REQUESTED: Mostly structural issues. If I can get the overarching plot and character arcs the way I want them, I know I can edit each chapter into good form
CRITIQUE TOLERANCE: I'm ok with someone who is being really, really brutal about the execution, but I'm hoping for someone who sees what I'm trying to do and wants to help me execute that vision.
EXPERIENCE & GOALS: I have absolutely no aspirations to be a professional writer. That just doesn't sound fun to me. Writing is a hobby and that's why I do fanfic. I want to edit this into something that's good enough to post to several different fic communities. I've written a lot of fanfic, but this is the first story of this length that I've actually finished.

ANYTHING ELSE: The story involves themes of child abuse/molestation. Nothing graphic at all, but if you're uncomfortable with references to that, this probably isn't the story for you.

I have a forever knight with Buffy the vampire slayer crossover
It's 51,000 words long and though I'm using the characters of both shows, it's sort of a canon-AU, I'm taking liberties witht the characters that may seem, well, out-of-character for them, just to make them fit in the story.
It needs a lot of editing and there might be a lot of plot confusion since I crunched about 47k four days before the deadline.
Warnings: description of death, (I'm using magic to cop out of a major conflict, so some people might think that's a little too unrealistic even if Buffy has a lot of magic uses), There is descriptive sex, (so anyone under the age of reading explicit material, please do not volunteer) I prefer slash and so far there's one chapter where there's male on male sex and another character developing that sort of relationship.
For a summary and two paragraph exerpt see my novel info. Anyone interested in being a Beta or just reading that story to give your critique, just nano mail me.
I will volunteer to read theirs if it's a fandom, I'm familiar with. I don't know a thing about BSG, and don't feel comfortable reading Star Wars or Star Trek, since I may have watched some, I haven't really followed it like some people.
