Hello fellow writers,

I am interested in offering editing and general crits of work (full novels only) if you would return the favor. I have been writing for over 15 years and have worked with many authors to help them finish their books. While I have not been published I have worked with author's who have been.

I have finally reached the point with the first book in one of my trilogies that I am preparing to send it out to agents. Before I do that, I would like someone with a critical eye, a love of fantasy, a passion for writing and genuine desire to help out a fellow writer to review my work. It is roughly 150K. It is certainly a lot of words but they are such good words, really. :-)

I am willing, eager actually, to return the favor. If your novel does not match in word count I would be willing to 'owe' you crits on anything that would add up to 150K and if yours is longer I would be glad to take that on if it meant a meaningful review of my work.

If you are at all interested, please let me know.

J

I was certified as a proofreader and editor awhile back, but only recently have gotten abck into it. However, I am a lover of literature, fiction and esp fantasy.

I have been proofreading short stories for a few authors for over a year now, one has had four, no six short stories published. I also proofed his novel which was over 300 pages. (Whew). Don't know when he will start shopping that around.

I don't have anything close to ready to proof, But Once I get into January, I expect to have more time on my hands. So, I'd be happy to give it a go.

That would be fantastic! Would you want to wait until you have something in January? I am very good to bounce ideas off. I am currently helping two other people through issues with their novels.

Either way, let me know and we can discuss details.

Thanks!

Just so y'all know, there's a whole forum for novel swaps and critiques, now. :)

Plus, in March a lot of folks do NaNoEd(iting)Mo, and thus are ready to swap and share in April. With luck.

I checked out the other forum, but most of those are all first drafts of this NaNo. (Which is rather brave; I'd be petrified if anyone read mine. Nearly all of it is my characters babbling as I get to know them; I'm not even sure where the plot is and I wrote it.)

However, this year's NaNo is eight or nine years after another story, which is a (nearly) finished trilogy - Rogue Crux. The first book, which is completed, is Memory's Bargain. It's about 96,000 words. (there's a second, but it's longer. The last one has to be cleaned up a tad bit more.)

I was part of an online critique group, so I've some experience in that, and I've edited much less exciting reports/papers for friends. I'd enjoy reviewing your work as much as getting feedback on my own.

However it can work out,
Katie

Thanks, Glencoe. I have already agreed to review two other novels. When I am finished with those I will reach out to you and maybe by then you will have something more concrete.
