Favorite novels: A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again, Waiting for Godot, The Giver, Catcher in the Rye, Bach Beethoven and the Boys, Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs, Righteous, and a lot of other (Pagan-oriented) books... I'll omit them in case this list gets too long!

Favorite music: Light background stuff, usually New Age, meditation, or acoustic guitar. If I'm in a more energetic mood, then something with a little more pop.

Non-noveling interests: Reading, writing, witchcraft, law, violin, hanging with friends, crocheting, playgrounds, the beach, religion and spirituality, other peoples' lives...

Brief Author Bio:

My first novel was written when I was eight, on my mom's old typewriter in the middle of our living room. I banged out three complete childrens' books based off of the character Kirby, and wanted to make my life about writing and illustrating books for children and young adults.

In college, I was a Creative Writing major (and a Music major, but that's another story -- hee!) and realized that my writing skills are not in the realm of fiction, but in creative non-fiction. Though I had been writing in that style for many years, I figured it'd be fun to take a chance and write a fiction novel for this year's NaNo. We'll see how this turns out!

Otherwise, I'm also a musician and a Paralegal, working for a firm in downtown Orlando. I still attend college for that aspect of my career, I'll be moving with my boyfriend to another city, and I've come down with the greatest of plagues in the worst of times, but I should still be able to find plenty of time to write.

... right?

Synopsis: Rising of the Samhain Moon

Jade has struggled to "fit in" throughout her life in Boston, MA. However, following the upheaval of everything she ever knew with the death of her husband, she uprooted herself and her newborn daughter to settle in Braintree, MA, to be near her spriteful and spellbinding Nana. Despite a complete denial of herself and her gift of magic, the kidnapping of her daughter on Halloween Eve by a fanatic religious sect hellbent on shaking the "devil from within" forces Jade to use the skills that she had hidden for so long, both for the sake of her daughter... and for herself.

Follow Jade and Bryan as they embark on a magical yet harrowing search to find Caitie before the sect is able to do its worst, at the rising of the Samhain moon.

Meet the Cast:

Jade - Mother, baker, childcare worker. Is widowed and a single mother of one daughter. Possesses magical powers that she believes are simply honed gifts, but realizes they're signs of something else when she sees her daughter with the same tendencies.

Caitie - Jade's four-year-old daughter, known for her rambunctious and spunky attitude. Can't control her happiness, nor the magic that results from it.

Bryan - Enamored by Jade when he meets her at a local Farmer's Market. Realizes that something strange is up with her when he follows and even helps her on a crazy race against time and faith.
