Brief Author Bio: The first day I ever realized I could enjoy writing was January 30, 2003. Since that day, I have written three novels (one for NaNo'07), begun some twenty or thirty others, and edited my NaNo'07 nearly twice. I only became serious about writing novels last summer, but noveling is now a part of my daily life. When I'm not writing, I'm worrying about my wordcount for the day and wondering what I'll write later. I have to admit, it's a fun way of life. ; ) |

Synopsis: When Chaos Falls
As a sequel to last year's story, Jimmy and Andrea must join together for another adventure in bounty hunting / private investigation to find the terrible, the frightening, the deadly . . . antique smugglers. *Dunt dunt DUN*
Excerpt: When Chaos Falls
Jimmy:
This probably wasn't a crime really. There was probably a very reasonable explanation for what Dessi had seen and what was going on in the Center. Then again, my curiosity did perk up at the thought of crime.
The elevator door swung open. "I tell you what, Dessi, if another piece of furniture gets broken or is made to look broken, call me and I'll come see what's going on. Maybe I can help you two figure out what's happening here. A fresh pair of eyes never hurts a mystery."
He looked surprised. "You believe me then?"
"You would do that?" Hazel asked at the same time.
I smiled at both of them. "Yes, and yes. Dessi, you still remember what you ate five months ago on your first date with Hazel. And Hazel, I'm rather interested in mysteries. They intrique me, and honestly, your crime is very unique. I don't know if I'll really be able to help you guys figure anything out, but I would enjoy coming by and seeing things in motion."
Andrea was watching me with an odd expression on her face that I couldn't read. I think she was wondering how I could be offering to do this when I knew nothing about solving crimes. If there was a crime going on here, anyway.
I pulled out an old receipt from my wallet and asked Andrea for a pen. She got one out of her purse and handed it to me without question. I wrote my cell phone number on the back of the receipt and handed it to Dessi. "Here's my phone number. The next time something gets broken and you think it's the same guy trying to sell it, give me a call."
He tucked it into the inside pocket of his jacket. "I'll do that. But, you really believe me?"
I laughed. "Yes, sir, I do. I know you're mind's still as sharp as a tack."
He shook his head. "Even the police didn't believe me." Then a smile began to make its way across his face. "We'll show them, won't we? We'll show them there's something going on here. With a young kid like you on our side, they'll have to believe us!"
I wasn't so sure about that, but I knew how to smile and nod with the best of them, and I made us of that skill now.
