not so much my MC's, but i've been editing some of my old stuff including my 2004 nano which i'm hoping to write sequels to at some point.
----------I knew one of the sequels was going to involve the MC's friend.
I did not know until recently (when i was informed of this by the character in question) that the "friend" is a 5'3", bipolar, failed-professional-ballet-dancer-possibly-turned-military-intelligence-operative, half-Russian half-Chechen, Russian citizen.
My MC, meanwhile, is working for the US government.....
all i could think was, "this is NOT going to end well."

I feel the need to point out that though I do attend a Catholic school, I'm not Catholic and I have absolutely no knowledge of the Mass.

I remember my MC, Jake, screwed me over in 2006 when he told me that no, he was NOT going to break up with Jessica for Sam, the girl I intended him to be with all along. So my novel was screwed, and yet I fell in love with him even more.

I've had yet more development on my MC front. Sam (who is now firmly a girl - just a girl who has grown up in a family with 4 brothers) has now told me that Max is not the name of her love interest, but her twin brother. Who is best friends with her new love interest, but she doesn't know his name.
I don't like Sam right now. Or Max, who is probably going to become a part narrator of my novel, even though Sam was intended to be the ONLY narrator. Hmm, he needs a plotline...
Sam JUST also told me that her parents were expecting twin boys (they found out they were having twins, but decided not to know the gender - they did that with all previous children as well), so they'd picked out the names Sam and Max. When it turned out it was boy and girl, they still stuck with the names. She's not annoyed at them, which is good.

My FMC, who was supposed to be in a loving, stable relationship with her amazing boyfriend, has decided that she's going to sleep with her older co-worker and my MMC during the last half of the novel.
Her boyfriend, through some wacky intuition, knows and puts up with it because he loves her too much to leave. Harry is one gigantic sad face, really. *hugs him*
And already two characters have cried out for their own spin-off novels. I love these characters to bits, so that's not the problem. The problem is that these spin-offs are almost guaranteed to be filled with angst, which really isn't something I want to put these characters through. But they keep insisting. :(
