To the tune of "The Flintstones":

NaNo,
NaNo/WriMo,
It's the time to be a word machine.
One month
For a novel,
It's the greatest thing I've ever seen!

Let's all
Gather at the coffee shop
Where we'll
Pound away on our laptops.

When you're
Doing NaNo,
You'll forget about your laundry,
And obligations,
You'll have a WriMo time!

I'm not really a fan of the Flintsones, but that's hilarious. The words work perfectly!

Yeah--sorry about that! If it's any consolation, it's stuck in my mind, too.
We used to sing "I Wish I Were an Oscar Meyer Weiner" to get unwanted songs out of our heads. It never failed to work.
I'll let someone else write the NaNo words to that tune. ; )

I got inspired, so here is my version of a Nanowrimo theme song, it's to the tune of "Pinky and the Brain"
(I've been missing that show lately)

We're writing all the time,
we have a real good time
1k after another,
it's simply sublime

We make the dream come true,
a book out of the blue

We're doing the Nanowrimo
now now now now

Those are both amazing. I want to print them, frame them, and hang them on the wall next to where I write.

Our region of Illinois::Naperville has as its theme song a parody of Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville (we sing it at our kick-off and TGIO):

An mp3 of our 2006 TGIO song (for the brave)

Typin' away again near dear ol' Naperville
Typ/in' is great fun
Wri/tin' the big one
Dream/in' of my book in so ma/ny stores
The laun/dry is piling
My chil/dren aren't smiling
When it's all o/ver I'll catch up my chores

Ty/ping a/way a/gain near dear old Na/per/ville
Sear/ching for my lost chap/ter of plot
Some peo/ple claim that there's a word/count to blame
But I know
It's Chris Ba/ty's fault

I don't know the rea/son
I typed here last sea/son
Wi/shing I had a Na/No/Wri/Mo tat/too
The pen/cil's a beau/ty
The skull's heavy du/ty
Where I can wear it I ha/ven't a clue

Ty/ping a/way a/gain near dear old Na/per/ville
Sear/ching for my lost chap/ter of plot
Some peo/ple claim that there's a word/count to blame
Now I know
Well, it could be my fault

More prob/lems with my plot
Now, who can I have shot?
My word count is down and so's my morale
My pen/cil I'm chew-in'
But there's cof/fee a brew-in'
With a/no/ther mug I know I'll hang on

Ty/ping a/way a/gain near dear old Na/per/ville
Sear/ching for my lost chap/ter of plot
Some peo/ple claim that there's a word/count to blame
But I know
It's my own darned fault

Yes and some peo/ple claim
That there's a word/count to blame
And I know
It's my own darned fault

Bravo, folks filking about NaNo: Those are some GREAT songs, and I wish I had the mental space (and the wordcount buffer!) to try writing one myself.

Thank you for the grin! :D

Here you go, one to the tune of "I wish I were an Oscar Meyer Weiner"

Oh I wish I were a NaNoWriMo winner
That is what I truly wish to be
Cause if I were a NaNoWriMo winner
Fifty thousands words would come to me.

Ahaha, that is so funny! But I shouldn't have read that, I started on the seventeenth and to win I need to write just under 5000 words a day and I've got ridiculously long emails and work and sleep to cram in as well! The last one is optional in my book, though...

Thanks, I don't know why but I'm feeling like going and doing my novel now, just because those songs made me happy.

My friends don't really know about NaNo, so I'm going to be sat singing these to myself and they'll be like: what?
