Some hunters found a tiny gray kitten in the woods today (really young, like five or six weeks) that they couldn't keep, since they were in a hunters' cabin and didn't have the resources to take care of it. My mom decided to take the tiny kitten in. It needs a name!
We've had a Beatles theme before, but have used: Sgt. Pepper, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Sexy Sadie, McGill (from Rocky Raccoon). The new kitten doesn't look much like a Prudence or Rita or Eleanor, but we're not completely tied to the Beatles thing.
The kitten is gray and wriggly, with a little brown on her and white socks and boots. She's very alert, and loves climbing and being up high (she settled in the hoodie I'm wearing, on my shoulder.)
Name the kitten! It should be something unique--names like 'Ashes' or 'Smoky' or such have already been considered and discarded.

Mr. Kite!
From "For the Benefit of Mr. Kite." I don't know why, I just like the idea of a kitten having that name. :D
EDIT: I just realized it's a girl kitty. So if you don't like 'Mrs. Kite,' then you could also try
Her Majesty
Julia
Lady Madonna
Maggie Mae
Michelle
Polythene Pam

We ran through most of them--also Molly (from Ob-La-Di), Penny (Lane), and Yoko. Still not sure what we'll settle on, but it's good to have a list!
(Of course, my cat, at my house, has the pretty terrible name of Mookey--but she was adopted at 5 years old with that name and I didn't have the heart to change it, so it's not my fault.)
PS: You like Warren Zevon too? Hooray! Maybe we could name the kitten Carmelita. ;)

What about an anagram for NaNoWriMo?
There's a whole bunch of posts about it here, if you're looking for ideas. She's SO cute!

Oh, she's so cute!
It's a departure from the Beatles theme, but what about Arwen? She looks elvish to me.
Or something from another language is fun to depart from the common English cat names. I'm partial to French myself, so Papillion, Soleil, etc...

Yes, I have completely lost it. NaNo is killing my sleep time, and no sleep=very incoherent though processes. =)

My cat, within 5 minutes of arriving at my home, was named Lewis, after Lewis and Clark. He was a tiny kitty then.
Since you found your kitty in the woods, may I suggest Clark, after the other explorer?

NanoCat.
"Nano" in this case meaning "small". Of course, there's the very real risk that she'll outgrow that one day...

Why not "Bandit" after what's shown in your screen? She was found lurking in the woods; she had to be up to no good... ;P

I think Dorian would be cute, I almost named my gray cat that before I picked Simon Jester.
Keeping with the Beatles theme, you could use Apple , or if she likes being on your shoulder, Jude.

I have three solid grey cats, named Zeus, Stony, and Duncan. I also had one named Blackberry who died. Grey and white ones have been named Ziggy, and Monty.
I think you should name him Purdy, as in Purdy hunting rifles...or maybe Hunter?

What about "paperback" goes with both the song and the theme of NaNo? (Or PB for short?) Or "Rider" as a play on "writer"

How about something egyptian? Cats were famously worshipped in Egypt, and I think they carry something of the essence of the ancient civilisation. :3
Also, a few random names:
Ashera
Ashura (demon)
Nephilim (Neff or Neffie for short)
Leonine (lion-like)
Fleetpaws
Tribble
Good luck finding the right name for your baby kitty. <3

Sable, because she looks like a Sable. You could also play on the spelling like I did with my kitten. Her name is Myckah, pronounced Mica.

I had two tiny kittens in my novel. They were named Pax and Engle. I vote for those. Beyond that, I would suggest just NaNo or Chris (as an homage to Chris Baty) or Cybele!

Boots? Lame, I know, but that's the name of one of my kittens at home.
i also have a Tipper, a Snuggles, an Almond, a Peanut, a Lucas, a Smoky, and a Buttons. My Gram has a cat named Tigger, but she's pretty vicious. In the past, I've had cats names Ringo, Sammy, Dean/Dino, Napoleon, and Wislon.
How about Webster?

I have a little foundling kitten that looks just like her.
When I found her outside my office she was starved, only about five weeks old, and loaded with fleas. Someone had dumped her. I managed to lure her to me with a dab of cream cheese.
She was so tiny, I didn't know what to call her. I mentioned her to a client, who is Egyptian. She suggested Habibi, which she said means 'little girl'.
So now she's my Habibi Baby.

What you have there is called a dilute calico. She's just precious! (And yes, it is a she.) I had one once and have ever after had a soft spot for that kind. Ours was named Mouse, but she was extra tiny.

I'm sitting here at my desk with a cat sitting in my lap leaning its paws on the edge of the desk and another one that insists on sitting between the keyboard and the monitor. Each has a separate name, but both are miffed at me because I don't call them what they want to be called, which is Empress of All the Universe. Of course, they'd be sharing the name, or maybe fighting over which one really owns it.
