I love giving yourself treats as you go along, to meet each small goalpost.

But what do you have planned to reward yourself when you reach the finish line?

For the uber-impressive people who already have green bars, and for the rest of us inching toward that 50K, as well as the folks who are tailoring their final goal to what's reasonable... champers and partay?

For me, I'll have to see if I can faithfully churn out a little over the daily quota, and meet 50K by the 29th (or bleary-eyed, the morning of the 30th). So if I'm done, my husband and I are headed for the dog show in Amsterdam. It's making me eek out just that little bit more every night.

How are you planning to celebrate the end of NaNo?

Well I'm hoping that at that point I will have been able to get enough money (through my job and babysitting) to get a psp.
Which I think will be more than a reward. (Even though I would get it regardless of whether or not I finish, because I want to play crisis core)

Also, I intend on having cake.

Even though I don't like it.

Cake will be eaten.

Oh, and my book is getting delivered on the 28th or thereabouts, which will be nice x3

Oh gosh, what do I plan to do when I get 100k? Well, for one, I plan to devote December to catching up on all the reading that I've missed. I told myself that I won't be able to read until December once I've gotten to my goal! Though, a more tangible celebration would be getting to open my box set of DVDs that I received a few days before the start of November and finally being able to watch them over Christmas Break if I'm able (which I will be, I have completely confidence) to complete NaNo! Also, my mom is treating me to sushi if I reach my goal! Bella loves her sushi. Omnomnom. :D

Well, when I was looking through some books about serial killers (mostly for research) and I came across a book about James and William Bulger (Whitey and Billy). I got really excited about it, but it's not really about serial killers, so I had to pass over it. It's waiting at Barnes & Noble for me to finish and it will be so exciting to get it. Yay 50K! (almost)

I'm getting back into the novel "Strapless" that I started two days before NaNo and made myself put down.

Then I'm going to watch my favorite movie of all time..."Gone with the Wind"...because I've been dying to watch it but it's a long movie. I would feel guilty to watch it during November because time spent watching it could be spent increasing my wordcount.

And lastly...I get to step foot in an antique store again to mosey. And possibly find something wonderful to purchase as a reward for my toiling over the laptop.

my boyfriend and I will go on a wee road trip: see the Sandhill crane migration at Bosque, rummage through antique stores in Bisbee Arizona, MOVE AROUND! Seems far away, but I have a feeling I will do it! Wine and chocolate will also be involved...

At the moment my reward is going to be a big chocolate bar, sleep, and a month or so of reading and just reading. It is going to be so nice. Once I get there.

Well, last year I used stickers to prompt myself through the month. I was going to do something similar this year, but I forgot and I don't really need that kind of incentive anymore - although it's always nice to get. I usually have a lot of trouble coming up with 'big' rewards, but this year, I thought I had the perfect one. My sister had moved out, and she took our two cats with her (even though I didn't want her to), so I was going to finally be able to get a kitten of my own. I've wanted one since I was about ten years old. And then, of course, my sister decided to move back in because she and her boyfriend were fighting. *sighs*

Needless to say, I was crushed, and I ask myself every day how I resisted slapping her across the face when she nonchalantly asked me if I was "disappointed" that I wouldn't be able to get my kitten now.

I'll probably make a spaghetti dinner with some garlic cheese toast and wine then play "Dirge of Cerebus" through again. I may also let myself watch all the time travel movies I've been withholding from myself this month.

Edit: All that + I just read that Neil Patrick Harris will be doing the Candlelight Processional reading Dec.1-3 at Disney World, so I'm going to try to head over to Epcot to catch one of those.

Mmm, this is fun to think about!
My reward is going to be buying myself a bottle of sparkling cider (partay, right?!), drinking straight from it, which always seems kind of rebellious to me, so naturally I enjoy it. I've been missing out on reading too, like most people, and also on, um, sleep.
Unfortunately, what I will REALLY be doing is studying for finals... yay college... blah.

My reward is to finally get cracking on buying Christmas gifts, and fast! I love getting people presents! 8D

As well as that, I think a haircut and a few days of militantly catching up on my research papers will be in order... Especially since both papers will be due the next week. Ack! >>;

Lots of wine! but... if I go the no alcohol route, then I'll probably be watching some korean horror (which I've been putting off all month) and maybe some other movies I've also been putting off, and... getting out with some of the friends that I've been neglecting!

I'm blowing my savings by putting together a steampunk outfit. XD. For every 10k I write, I get to buy one part of the outfit. So far, I have the necklace, the dress and the bag, and I'm waiting on my typewriter key earrings for the 40k I've just written. When I hit 50k I'll be buying the shoes; and then tramping around the city with my Gothic Lolita friend to garner glorious stares.

I'm probably going to make me a large chocolate cake. If I can, I would like to have a party.

And I am seriously aiming for the 25, despite starting this weekend.

My reward ... which I would be getting anyway, but which now I will feel like I really, really, earned it ... is a 3-week vacation over Xmas in a cute little cottage on the Oregon coast. Days upon end in my fleecy comfies, with hot chocolate by a roaring file ...okay, that's pretty much like NaNo, actually, only I'll be reading (voraciously!) instead of writing; sleeping in in the mornings (except when low tide is early), long walks on the beach, long afternoon naps, volumes of Sudoku puzzles, and hours and hours of thinking about absolutely nothing at all. The most important decision I will make during those 3 weeks is which kind of chocolate to eat next! Yeah, okay ... again, a lot like NaNo only without the writing part! 8-)

I knew I was getting close to 50k today, so I stopped by the store after work and bought a big jar of Vlasic pickles. I got to dig into those pickles tonight when my bar went green! I do dearly love pickles, and they're so expensive anymore..

Wine. Gevulde speculaas mmmmm...I think it is a Dutch specialty for Sinterklaas...it is a bit like gingerbread but not quite...and with an almond filling.
I am a bit of a tarot and other cards collector, and I finally get to play at leisure with the new decks I have got, and I have also ordered an Alphasmart, that was actually meant to help me with Nano *rolls eyes* but thanks to the gloriously slow international shipping it will be my present for finishing Nano. Well there will be more to write I am sure...
Oh and I will go for a long forest walk no matter how cold it is XD

Personally, I like to write in a small cafe down the way called Fran's cafe, and usually I just content myself with a straight-up coffee and a Light cheese/turkey sandwich. However, I itend to beat out 50k tomorrow and while I'm in the cafe, I intend to indulge in one of the most delicious desserts they have. <3 Can't wait!!!

If I write the 50,000 words, it will be a laptop. I am using nano to test myself on whether I actually have the drive to complete 50,000 or more, because then I will know that a new laptop for my writing and personal stuff will be well worth the money. :D

I'm rewarding myself with a few things. First off, I'm hoping to finish by next Tuesday (which I can do if I write 2500 words a day), so I'll spend next Tuesday night just relaxing and hanging out with my boyfriend. Then I'll have Thanksgiving Break, which will involve lots of family time (and potentially drunken Karaoke with my cousins).

I've been saving my money for months now, and as a reward to myself for a very long and very busy semester, I'm planning on going out to San Diego with my boyfriend to enjoy a little vacation and meet his family over Winter break. Tickets are a tad pricey for the time, but it should be totally worth it. :)

Then I get to spend all of Christmas break editing my novel >_< joy.
