I'm Thankful for....

I'm thankful that the vast majority of NaNoers are possibly the most encouraging bunch of folks ever :)

I am thank full for the ability to split contractions every time I can not find more words ;)

I'm grateful that my family are brilliant, and that my mum is able and moreover willing to help me out when I have been unwell even though I flew the nest years ago.

I'm thankful there are still 4 and half days of nano left...

I am thankful for my family who should have given up on me a long time ago. I am thankful for my muse who has cooperated. I am thankful I have a house, a car that will be mine in 4 years, enough food to not be hungry, a youth group that is accepting and a church that loves me.

NaNoWriMo wise I am thankful for lyrics and poetry. I am thankful for long nights on the computer and I am thankful for everyone on NaNo Chat that helped me through the last 10K or so. You all are so amazingly positive and I love you all for it!

Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia. ~ I'm a writer, ergo I'm crazy.

I'm thankful for being able to live an awesome life! It might not be that exciting, but I have a family that loves me, a home, food, the essentials. And of course my books and music--two things I would not live without.

I'm also thankful for NaNo, which taught me that I CAN be a novelist, as cheesy as that sounds. I didn't think it was possible, but I'm well on my way. In the same vein, I'm thankful for my amazing creative writing professor I had this semester. Her class taught me so much--and now I'm seriously thinking about pursuing a career in writing--and came during the perfect time: my first NaNo.

I'm thankful for Chris Baty and this challenge... it has literally changed my life, and will make this Christmas a happy one.

I'm thankful for an amazing, patient, forgiving husband who has been so supportive this year, and has been my rock when things get rough.

I'm thankful for Rob (Lousy Writer 13) whose stalwart support and challenge has made it possible for me to stay sane my first year as staff for this challenge.

I'm thankful for Cybele, who is just... awesome. (What else can you say?)

I'm thankful for my two beautiful girls, Elisabeth and Rebekah, who are my light, my life, and my inspiration.

Most of all, I'm thankful for everyone here. YOU are who makes NaNoWriMo what it is. Without you... we would have nothing.

I'm thankful for my wonderful husband, who supports me in all things. I'm thankful for the friends we have that are so good to us when we need them and when they can be. I'm thankful for the opportunity that has been presented for us to get back on our feet and out of debt.

I'm thankful, for the third year in a row, that we have a chiropractor so awesome that I am still able to walk, when I thought for sure that I was going to have to be in a wheelchair the rest of my life.

And I'm thankful for NaNo- this has been a wonderful first experience with it and I can't wait for next year! In between though, I'm totally still going to be writing! I have my passion for writing again. :)

I don't have Plot Bunnies so much as I have Plot Bunniculas... Mine go for blood.

Despite not celebrating...

I'm thankful for NaNo, and finally finding a community of people where I feel like I belong for the first time in my life.
For all of my friends, and my boyfriend that I love dearly. For my muses that stay at my side all the time. For the school, that though I berate frequently, is better than most. For the fact that I have everything I need to live. For life.

I wrote a whole huge list of this a few weeks ago to cheer myself up. Suffice it to say, I'm a very lucky girl.

I'm thankful my husband has job security and we have great benefits, even if those things mean deployments.

I'm thankful my husband will be home in time for Christmas.

I'm thankful I was able to give my son an amazing birthday. with more amazing celebrations to come, even though he may not have many presents from Santa this year.

I'm thankful that my health isn't TOTALLY shot.

I'm thankful that we caught my son's asthma before he had a bad enough attack to land him in the hospital.

I'm thankful that my son is driving me crazy right now - it means he's here and healthy.

I'm thankful for a huge extended family.

I'm thankful for amazing friends.

And I'm thankful for karma, which I know has gotten to my wallet thief... because even though I can't prove it, I know who did it...

I'm thankful for a lot really.

I'm thankful for my wonderful family.

I'm thankful for my best friend who I know will always be there for me.

I'm thankful for winning NaNo.

I'm thankful for having a place to live, nice clothes.

I'm thankful for my ability to cook and to be able to cook well.

I'm thankful that my parents homeschooled me all the way through highschool.

I'm thankful for the trip that we just went on

I'm thankful that this year my dad's leg isn't broken and he's not bedridden like this time last year.

I'm thankful for where I live.

I'm thankful that I am me and that I live the life I do, with the people that are in it.

I'm also very thankful that I've never had a broken heart.

- Lenient professors who gave me more time to study for tests I NEED to ace.
- Easy final semester projects
- Friends who have been so supportive throughout the month of november while I've been doing NaNo... and for their help after my uncle died
- My family. My big old 'puts the fun back in disfunctional' family who has loved and supported me in everything
- My boyfriend, who has done so much to keep me going throughout this month. And for the fact that his money issues are finally sorting out *cheers*
- The NaNo boards, and all the awesome people here, who are always good for a fun discussion, advice and general madness. Nice to know we're all in this together.
- This past year. It's been hell, but I've learned so much and it's done me a world of good to go through everything I've been through.

I can't wait for next year. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I'm thankful that I have been given the passion to write, and the opportunity to do it with a bunch of awesome, inspiring, and encouraging people here on NaNo. : )
I'm thankful that my family is still here with me, despite the tough times we've been having lately and the financial stuff.
I'm thankful that I will have the opportunity to go to one of the top universities in the country.
I'm thankful that everyone I know is safe and healthy, and loving life.
I'm thankful that my friends and family have helped me to help myself.
I'm thankful that God is here watching over my family and friends.
I'm thankful to be living where I do, in so magnificent a country.

I'm thankful for my friends and family, for the two jobs I have (even though at times I desperatly wish for more free time) and my boyfriend of almost 6 months. There are some hard times ahead for my family but I'm thankful that we're together now, and so I'm going to enjoy this time we spend together as much as I possibly can.

I'm very deeply thankful for the fact that I don't have to be around any of my relatives this holiday season. It invokes in me the kind of warmth and emotion only an atheist like myself would hesitate to call a blessing. And if the Flying Spaghetti Monster can hear the devout scraping of my fork against a bowl of Chef-Boyardee tonight, may I have many more holidays like this one to be thankful for in the future.

* The world's most wonderful husband. Twenty years this week and it really does seem like it was just a while ago...
* Nine of the world's most delightful children. Who ever thought that a kid who didn't want to get married or have children would marry at eighteen and have nine?
* The world's most incredible son-in-law. Who would have thought that God would laugh and turn me into Tevya from Fiddler on the roof and give me a son a little older than me!
* The world's most adorable bestekids (Pidgin Norwegian for grandkids... as bestemor it just makes sense that I should hav bestekids!)
* Finally living in a house for a LOnG time. 20 years in the same place when most of my life wasn't 20 months is wonderful.
* A safe, clean, wonderful town.
* A church small in number but large in heart.
* Friends I can count on. Period.

What DONT I have to be thankful for? If I don't stop now, I never will.

I'm thankful for this opportunity I have to live in Japan and meet all these interesting people from all over the world. I'm thankful to Nanowrimo for devising a way to make me write a story in 30 days. I'm thankful for my wonderful husband even though work keeps us from living together at the moment. I'm thankful for facebook that helps me stay in contact with all my friends, old and new. I'm thankful for my job to provide me with enough paid vacations to be able to go to Australia this Christmas. I'm thankful for my Dad, my sister and my best friend kusa-chan who helped me throughout the challenge!

I am thankful for amazing opportunities that opened for me this year.

I am thankful to be living back in my hometown this year since I was too far away to come home the last 3 years. Thanksgiving is so much better around family.

I'm thankful that my health is infinitely better than last year. That I'm finally getting this novel out of my head and onto paper/computer screen. That there's still plenty of time for me to be a Nano winner. For my gorgeous and loving cats. For my fantastically supportive and awesome friends. For 4 days off to write and relax. For all the amazing people I've encountered during this Nano adventure, and all that I will get to know better over the coming years as I do it over and over again! For finding a great chiropractor to heal my aching muscles. For having a job in this crazy economy. For finally being able to check writing a novel off of my Bucket List, which if I can do that, I can do anything else on that list. And lastly, I am thankful that God has given me such a full life full of wonderful things but has also given me the ability to enjoy my life when everything around me is falling apart.

I am truly blessed beyond belief! Have a fantastic holiday everyone!

In all seriousness, I'm thankful that I've made it this far, which surprises even me. Not in noveling, mind; there were instances when I seriously doubted I'd live this long, due to my penchant for making terrible life choices, but I'm still here! I'm thankful that my mother never carried out her threats, and that my stepfather is a good enough guy to work like crazy to support the family, and that my dad still supports my sister and me as best he can all these years after the divorce. I'm thankful for my grandparents no longer being here, so as to have missed the worst parts of me screwing up...

Wow, that's actually the exact opposite of uplifting, isn't it? Being serious is bad for me. Let's try this again...

I'm thankful that Barack Obama is our President-Elect, soon-to-be President, as it means that the prestige and P.R. of the U.S. will once again be on the rise. Obama's proven himself a pretty media-savvy dude, so I'm looking forward to a subtle steamroller of Americanization sweeping the globe. With any luck, we'll make it before the Mayan Apocalypse, and Steven Colbert's dream of America's Planet will come true.

- My wonderful, if somewhat bad-tempered husband, who has had to work so hard because, right now, I am too ill to work at all.

- My four beautiful children, who are healthy and happy and who inspire me on so many levels.

- The fact that it could, health-wise, have been so much worse and yet it isn't and I can cope.

- NaNo, which has seriously changed my life. My family are telling me I am a different person now that I have finally sat down and written the damn book! Suppressed creativity, it seems, was bad!

- The chance to make a living doing something I truly enjoy.

- The fact that the house hasn't been repossessed just yet!

- my parents, as above, but who also took several months out of their year to care for my kids and animals whilst I was in hospital

- healthcare professionals, who work damn hard, often for not enough money, and put up with all kinds of crap but still treat you like you're their only patient

- my BF, who says he has loved me all his life, and has stuck through the bad times, even though there's only been bad times the short time we've been together. It will get better, I promise!

I'm thankful for Australia not having Thanksgiving...

Although we don't have a Thanksgiving tradition in my country, I'd like to give thanks for three things. I'm thankful I'm alive (almost got run over yesterday), that my family understands my "no distracting" rule (lest they be run over), and that my life is pretty much in a good place at this point.

Wait! I meant four!: that so many cool people have participated, along with me, in NaNoWriMo this year. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Days in calendar are closer than they appear.

I'm thankful for my family, who are incredibly loving and supportive of all the crazy things I do, even if they don't quite understand. I'm thankful for my grad program--this year, and especially this semester, I've found an incredible sense of vocation; I know that I was made for my job. I am thankful I get paid for something that makes me so happy I would do it for free. I'm thankful for my friends who keep me sane. I'm thankful for NaNo, which has taught me a lot about all things I can do when I set my mind to it. I don't think I'll ever support myself by writing fiction, but it's a nice counter to all the non-fiction I write the rest of the year.

I'm thankful for:
My caring mother, for my hardworking brother, my two needy dogs who spend half their time sleeping and the other half asking for attention. For having been able to buy all the books I wanted this year, and a few others I had no plan to buy but I'm glad I did. For hearing about NaNoWriMo and to myself, who made this journey possible. For the amazing weather here in Portugal. Sometimes it's too cold, sometimes it's too hot, but we rarely have any disasters. I'm in the weather's paradise! For all the amazing tv-shows, movies, books, animes and mangas I read and watched this year. For all the people out there who inspired me.

Well, to be honest, I don't celebrate Thanksgiving BUT I'm still thankful for everything I've got. I'm thankful for my friends, family, the computer keyboard, my inspiring music (Requiem For A Dream soundtrack, 'Dirty Little Secret,' 'Rooftops' and eveb a few old Busted and Matt Willis songs! :o Forgive me please) and my imagination!!!! x

... my good health, my ability to keep a job, my friends and family, the love I am able to both give and receive, music, books, being able to write a novel... just basically for anything that makes me happy!
