The Final Weekend!

Lights! Camera! Action! Here, in the closing hours of NaNoWriMo 2008, WrimoRadio brings you a conversation with Sara Gruen, whose NaNo novel Water For Elephants is being made into a major motion picture! Tune in to hear about your role in the film.

We also hear our final “Word of the Week” from Olga, Brooklyn ML extraordinaire.

Here’s your final chance to answer our QOTW. You know the drill: grab a microphone, sit down at your computer, and record yourself answering the following: My name is {blank} from {blank} and I’m celebrating the end of my NaNo by {blank}. Keep your answer to 15 seconds or less, and email the WAV or mp3 file to wrimoradio@nanowrimo.org on or before Wednesday, Dec 3rd.

We’ll be back in December, with a final celebratory “wrap-up” episode for NaNoWriMo 2008.

This episode of WrimoRadio, like everything about National Novel Writing Month, is brought to you by you—yes, you—the generous individuals who have contributed to NaNoWriMo. Donating is easy—simply go to nanowrimo.org and click on Donation Station.

Do you know the way to 30K? Midway through Week Three, and we’re on the quest to reach that milestone by bedtime on Wednesday. But first, take a break with WrimoRadio!

There’s still time to answer our latest Question of the Week. Just grab a computer and a cheap microphone, fire it up, and say the following: "My name is [your name] and I’m from [where you live] and the worst line of prose I’ve written this month is [blank.

Wednesday, Week Two!

UPDATE: WrimoRadio's Santa Barbara studios are under fire evacuation orders, so Friday's episode will be delayed. The podcast must go on; we'll just be a day or two late!

Recently, NaNoWriMo got tagged as "an underground dating site for book nerds." To see if there's any truth to the rumors, we headed to Britain, Nashville, and the Pacific Northwest to poll some NaNo singles on their November love lives.

In today’s episode, WrimoRadio sets out to investigate the rumors that NaNoWriMo is a swinging singles scene. The verdict: Maybe not so much. Thanks to Nanos Chris, Shellie, Claire, and Meredith for assisting us in this episode.

Don’t forget, you have until Friday to respond to our “Question of the Week”. To answer this week’s question, just grab a computer and a cheap microphone, fire it up, and say the following: "My name is [your name] and I’m from [town where you live] and my novel has evolved from [blank] to [blank]."

Make sure your answer is 15 seconds or less and saved as an MP3 or WAV file, and then email it to us at wrimoradio@nanowrimo.org. We'll put as many of them as we can fit on the air every Monday.

Be sure to tune in on Friday, Nov. 14th, when we talk with Debs, a Toronto ML, who was instrumental in putting together NaNoWriMusic 2008 CD. We’ll also be hearing again from Brooklyn ML Olga with another “Word of the Week."

Say it isn’t so! The honeymoon is over. The bloom is off the rose. The euphoria of Week One is but a distant memory. Yes, fellow Nanos, we’ve entered Week Two of the challenge. But never fear, WrimoRadio is here!

In this episode, we hear from our veteran New York Nanos with their NaNo-tested and approved tips on bolstering your word count. We also hear your answers to our “Question of the Week”—Nanos all over the world chime in on how to stay motivated during this make-or-break week of the challenge.

Last week’s response to our “Question of the Week” was just fantastic—thanks to all of you who sent us your audio. Keep ‘em coming! To answer this week’s question, just grab a computer and a cheap microphone, fire it up, and say the following: "My name is [your name] and I’m from [town where you live] and my novel has evolved from [blank] to [blank].

Be sure to tune in on Wednesday, Nov. 12th, when we focus on Nanos of the single persuasion. Is it true NaNoWriMo is a swinging scene for singles? Tune in and find out!
